About Us

A little bit about Dan McBride

~ master woodworker

Dan has been in the carpentry business all of his adult life. Spanning across almost every western state, he has done everything from concrete to cabinets. Dan attended college in Utah where he learned his drafting techniques and developed a love for woodworking. After many years of hard labor Dan finally decided to concentrate his energies on what he loves to do best - the designing and building of small wood crafts in our home-based woodworking shop.

Our new JET table saw was a wonderful addition to our Woodshop.

After years of accumulation, Dan finally has acquired all the necessary tools to do a complete job. He mills his own lumber, designs and builds all the products that go out of this shop, calculates all the price quotes for custom boxes, and occassionally finds time to go fishing!

Dan works very closely with his clients and is always willing to go the extra mile. He is honest and dependable and a very hard working man.

A little bit about Deb McBride

~ the webmaster

I am a self-taught free-lance web designer and graphic artist. I am the designer and webmaster of this site which has grown from a mere 3-page website to over 400 pages full of photographs of Dan's work over the years. While attending the University of Okla., I learned a lot about art and design, however, back then home computers were not even a reality. Once I got my hands on a home computer, everything changed and I finally found my niche in life.

I am the office manager here, spending many hours each day answering e-mails, updating web pages and sending off price quotes. Once in a while I help Dan out in the shop with design ideas, and occassionally I do gluing, puttying and sanding. I also enjoy designing web sites for other people. I have a nice clientele that keeps me quite busy.

At Arizona Specialty Woodcrafts:

Our goal is to be your woodworker's resource on the web. We began this site in Sept. 1999 as a way to sell our own handcrafted wooden items. We made lots of stuff back then: birdhouses, mirrors, CD racks, wall plaques, gameboards, stools and benches, decorative shelves, Christmas decorations, and much more. We soon found out what sells the best.

Custom Wooden Boxes: We offer unique one-of-a kind creations that you get to design yourself! As the box orders started rolling in we found we did not have time for many of the other items we were building.

We are a husband-and-wife team; no employees and no assembly line. We limit the items we build and sell now to our unfinished custom wood boxes, our famous Couch~Caddy remote control organizers, our unfinished Red Oak Mantle Shelves, unfinished Redwood Birdhouse Condos and our beautiful, hand-carved Tree Mirrors. Custom orders are our specialty!

About our associates:

We soon found out that there is a huge demand for woodworking parts and supplies. We found a great way to supplement our once struggling income by offering HartvilleTool unique tools and Rockler hardware, Woodcraft catalog items, Amazon books, toys & games, aBaby furniture, Homevision' s easy-to-assemble furniture, Joann's craft supplies, and a multitude of other products for the woodworker, crafts person, the home decorator and the gift giver.
