If you are looking to build a simple rectangular style deck, this is the plan that will help you accomplish the goal. Plans come with large, fold-out shop drawings, plus a list of materials needed for two sizes detailed by the plans, the 12' x 10' and 12' x 12'. The plan also has measurements for expanding the basic design to the following sizes: 16' x 10', 20' x 10', 16' x 12', and 20' x 12'. Building instructions are aided by large measured drawings which make the construction process easy for anyone to understand. Do the project yourself using our plans, or just hand the plan over to a contractor and get an accurate quote with the exact materials list provided. Easy to understand.
You will receive detailed plans for two professionally designed entry porches which are perfect for either a front or a side entrance. These sturdy porches employ time tested construction methods and are great for any sort of dwelling. The two styles illustrated here are included, each with a separate list of materials, shop drawing, and instructions for building. Plan 1 porch is 6' 5" wide by 5' 5" deep, while plan 2 porch is 7' 5" wide by 6' 5" deep. These porches are weight bearing, functional structures. Hand the plans over to a contractor, or do it yourself.
The deck you can build with these plans is 20' 6" by 12' 6" and uses standard construction techniques and standard lumber sizes. Joist framing, etc. The nice thing about plans like this is the materials list -- you receive a nice copy of Quanities and Descriptions of exactly what you need to buy, taking much of the pain out of your project. Hand it to the hardware store and say, "This is what I need". Get it delivered, then follow the plans. If you're familiar with tools, you can build this deck.
Decks are pretty straightforward by themselves, but the rails can make or break the appearance of a deck -- and they're just harder to imagine. With this plan package comes instructions and large measured drawings for the construction of the five deck railing systems you see in the picture. Each railing has a different style and all are made from common building materials available locally. Each plan also comes with its own seperate list of materials. Two of the railings are considered to be contemporary, two are considered to be traditional, and the white one in the middle is "colonial".
