This practical high chair is designed like the old fashioned ones -- sturdy. The footrest is adjustable and the tray is removable. No special hardware is needed, though a safety belt of some sort is recommended. Through-doweling makes for ease in construction. The seat height is 22", overall height is 38-1/2". Even though we consider this to be an intermediate level project, a grandpa or dad who is a beginner in woodworking (with the proper motivation) can probably make a go of this project. SPECIAL TIP: Remember to let ANY baby furniture which has been stained plenty of time to "air out" before turning the piece over to the new parents (usually 30 days). |
