2. By "interlocking" we mean the top and bottom section of the box locks together on the inside.
3. Not all hinges work with each of these styles. Indicate your preference in the hinge section below and we will advise if they are workable or not.

If you are interested in a "recessed top", which means the outside top of the lid has been recessed in 1/8", 1/4" etc. for use with ceramic tiles, leather or other inlay techniques, please indicate the details in the comment box at the bottom of this page.

Special Notes:
1. By "flat lid" we mean a box with a lid made of one solid flat piece of wood; no cavity up in the inside of the lid. Wider boxes may require splicing wood together.
2. By "interlocking" we mean the top and bottom section of the box locks together on the inside. All 'flat interlocking' lids must be made with 3/4" thick wood.
3. Not all hinges work with each of these styles. Indicate your preference in the hinge section below and we will advise if they are workable or not.

* By default, splined-miter joints will be the same wood as the box. However, if you want a more decorative touch, we can use contrasting woods. If interested, indicate this in the 'comment box' at the bottom of this page. We can use a 'lighter' or 'darker' contrasting wood. Also multiple splines, straight or angled.

» Corners and Edges: Sanding & Routing If you want a combination of edge designs, use the comment box at the bottom of this page to explain. For instance: square 'horizontal' edges and very rounded 'vertical' edges (as shown in last image below).
