The project is packed with fine wood detailing including crests, banners and lions -- all of which have full size patterns. The splash of color is not created with paint but with colorful and readily available domestic and exotic hardwoods (though you could use paints).The plan outlines instructions for building the armor-clad horse, shield, sword, battle axe and the jousting pole stand with supporting sabers on the base. The finished rocking horse is intended to be a display piece but with modifications, supervised children could ride. Finished size is 54" to top of the pole, 40" to the top of the horse's head, and a 30" seat height. Rockers are 52" long and 17" wide. |
Here is a great rocking motorcycle project plans for all of you who have been looking for a unique ride-on. Lots of cutting involved, but it's nothing the full size patterns and instructions won't help you handle.For most people, just looking at the motorcycle evokes many ideas for decorating possibilities and personal touch details -- you can tell it will become an heirloom and favorite passed down for many years, for sure. 44" long, 27" high. |
As with all of our project plans, this one has full size patterns -- so you can just lay the pattern down, transfer the lines, and cut all pieces. The overall length of the rockers is 69" (quite long, indicative of the style), a height to the top of the head of 39", a seat height of 33", and the width at the widest part of the rockers is 17", so it's a good sized rocker for kids aged 3 or 4 and even older. |
This traditional styled rocking horse has a unique twist ... a secret compartment under the saddle of the horse. Kids will love to keep their little treasures hidden away in this secret storage area.The rocking horse runners are 55" long, with pronounced anti-tip ends, while the horse is overall about 12" wide. Seat height is about 20". The child will need to be 2 years old or so before climbing on and riding without help. Full size patterns are provided for all curved pieces. A full list of materials is also provided, plus details for the leatherwork and how to make the bit for the mouth, and written instructions for building. Great project for most any skill level. |
Think this project is above your skill level? It's not -- you can build both horses and finish as pictured, or build just one horse as many woodworkers choose to do with this project. (Good luck getting two kids to not fight while on the rocking horse at the same time -- we think this is the reason!) One child can straddle both horses, too, if you're only building for one child.Seat height is 20", length 34". You will get full size patterns, instructions in a friendly paragraph format, photos during construction, and a complete list of the materials. Tips for decorating are included, but let your imagination run wild when it comes to finishing off this one-of-a-kind rocking horse. |
