About these Alternate Wood
- Woodgrain Veneer has a thin slice of nice wood glued to MDF core. This gives it the appearance of conventional wood. Come in 4' x 8' sheets.
- Plywood Veneer has a thin slice of nice wood glued to plywood which is a number of layers of wood glued together. This gives it the appearance of conventional wood. Come in 4' x 8' sheets.
- MDF - Fiberboard is a type of engineered wood product that is made out of wood fibers. It is denser than normal particleboard. Sometimes used for boxes that will be painted solid colors.
- Hardboard, also called high-density fiberboard, is a type of fiberboard, more dense and much harder and highly compressed. Used often for box bottoms and dividers.
- Lauan Plywood is a thin plywood veneer. We use it to line boxes, make panels and dividers and other minor application. It is smooth, strong and relatively stable.
